These folks backpack-snowshoed from the sno-park trailhead to Snowbowl Hut and got settled there, then they day-hiked to the Yurt and back to Snowbowl. They planned to hike up to High Hut the next day with a side trip to Anderson Lakes. 'talk about being in great shape...
Hi there! My name is Dani Meyer and I recently stumbled upon your site here in my search for yurts. I am planning a trip for my husband and I and I was wondering if you could tell me what the best times are to visit the yurt? I was thinking next December but from some of the pictures I am wondering if there is too much snow then??
My email is danicmeyer (at) gmail (dot) com and I would love to hear from you. Thanks so much!
Howdy Dani, anytime is a good time to visit the yurt, the more snow the better. It's about a six mile ski or snowshoe trip to get there over a couple of >1000ft ridges. See http://mounttahomatrails.org for more information and availability.
